Happy Spring Equinox!

In the above picture are seeds, harvested at the Waldorf school garden, and a 100 year old bell from my dear friend Stephanie's grandma, Wilma Marie White. The bell is a beautiful rendition of Hanuman from Wilma's travel adventures.

What seeds are you planting this year in the garden of your mind and heart and in the world around you? What clear bells of remembering are you ringing for today that will still vibrate and sing in beauty into the  future?

Dear Friends,

What is blooming in your garden today?

How did you prepare to meet this rush of new energy and life force?  Have you amended and nourished your soil? Sown your seeds? What will grow which you have cultivated? How will it delight and nourish you and the world around you?

Thich Nhat Hanh, one of my very first teachers in mindfulness and meditation, taught that the mind is like a field, filled with seeds. We are gardeners in this field. What grows in our garden is what we water and tend.

Mind is a field in which every kind of seed is sown. This mind-field can also be called "All the seeds."

As a gardener, I know how it is when I've planted something and it 'gets loose' and tries to take over. I know that same principle in the garden of my own mind as well.

For example, when I've cultivated a habit of anger, watered it with my indignation, and then that anger gets beyond it's proper ‘boundaries'.

I know that some things need pruning, some things need to be plowed under or pulled up. My habits of thinking and perspective are something that I can cultivate in relationship with the world around me and within me.

We seem to be living in a time when there is much suffering, division, and fear. What better time to sow seeds of peace, presence, and deep relaxation, so that we can be more aware of our inner gardens, of the field of our minds and what we choose to propagate?

Please come and see me for yoga and meditation instruction, Craniosacral therapy, Ayurvedic bodyworktherapeutic bodywork, and Holistic Health Counseling. Let's practice being calm and present for ourselves and the world around us. Let's water and tend the seeds that we want to see blossom.

Enjoy this season of rebirth and renewal.

Come and visit me soon and share the precious seeds of wisdom you have gathered, so together we can grow gardens of beauty all around!

Much Love,
~Liz
